Join Consulting Actuaries Erich Brandt, Greg Fears and Senior Actuarial Analyst Brittany Henrich as they analyze and discuss groups who have had adverse loss development, as well as how the industry performed this past year compared to the last several years. To further enhance this study, an analysis of the risk of material adverse deviation and thresholds as observed in the past few years’ statements of actuarial opinion will be presented.

Erich A. Brandt, FCAS, MAAA, is a senior consulting actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources in the Bloomington, Illinois office. He has worked in actuarial consulting since 1997. He currently serves as a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Examination Committee. Erich has considerable experience in assignments involving loss reserving, funding studies, cost allocation mechanisms, loss cost projections, competitive analysis, captive feasibility studies, personal lines ratemaking and financial analysis of insurance companies.

Gregory W. Fears, Jr., ACAS, MAAA, ARM, is a consulting actuary with Pinnacle in the Bloomington, Illinois, office. He has been in the property/casualty industry since 2001. Greg has considerable experience in assignments involving loss reserving, funding studies, loss cost projections, captive feasibility studies, risk margin calculations, simulation methods, deductible analysis, cost allocation mechanisms,financial analysis of insurance companies, commercial lines ratemaking and competitive analysis.

Brittany Henrich is a senior actuarial analyst with Pinnacle in the Bloomington, Illinois office. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. She began work in the property/casualty insurance industry in 2016. Brittany is actively pursuing membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) through the examination process. She has experience in assignments involving loss reserving, loss cost projections and group captives. Brittany has worked with loss reserve analyses for group captive insurers writing workers’ compensation, auto liability, general liability and auto physical damage coverage. She is also involved with other captive reserves and pricing projects.
